Quick Update

Hi, Everyone! I was having fun updating the look of our blog. I am not quite finished yet, I am still learning all the possibilities!
We are doing well. Daniel had a very nice birthday and was spoiled rotten by all of his friends and family! He has started school and really is enjoying it! I will post pictures soon. David is talking a lot more clearly and has also graduated out of diapers! He is not accident free, but is improving daily. Melody is now mobile. She started crawling about two weeks ago! She is having the time of her life now that she can almost keep up with the boys! She loves to be where they are and of course loves to take their toys! Daniel and David are not too sure they like her being so mobile.
Mark is keeping busy with work and church. Our pastor has been out of town the last couple of weeks and that has left Mark with more to do than usual. He has held up well, but is looking forward to next weekend and some needed rest and relaxation.
I am keeping busy as well. The days fly by quickly! In addition to homeschooling, potty training, and keeping up with Melody, I have found a few minutes here and there to work on piecing the blocks to my sampler quilt. It is lots of fun -but I am learning that it does require much accuracy. Oh well, I figure this is my learning quilt- so I really am not being overly particular if the blocks aren't exactly perfect. Live and learn, right!?
The scenery here is so beautiful. The trees are turning gold and red and the air is a little cooler. I will have to take pictures and post them. Fall is definitely my favorite season of the year!
Well, I had better head to bed before Mark wakes up. I will post again hopefully soon.

Our Summer

Well, it is already August. I guess I really was serious about once a season posting.

The summer has been very nice. May was busy with company. My grandparents drove all the way from Tennessee to visit us. We really enjoyed their visit. The children especially since they came with toys! We have even inherited the famous "Furby" (a.k.a "fussy"). He has been given a place of great honor in our house -on the top shelf of the book case out of reach of little hands! He has been sleeping peacefully there all summer long! I don't plan on disturbing his rest any time soon either.

June was pretty quiet. It wasn't too warm so the boys enjoyed the sunshine! Daniel played kickball in the Springville city league. He had a great time.

We also took the time to visit a nature center in Ogden. It was so neat. We counted 14 deer! I have never been that close to a deer before! What a beautiful world God has created! We had VBS at the end of June and Daniel was able to go. He really enjoyed it. I did too. I was able to teach the 1st through 5th graders. We had a great group. All in all, I think we had around 40 children and teenagers. We combined it with another church south of us and held it in a public park in their town. I don't know of any salvations from it, but I know there were several LDS kids in my group and I was able to give a clear explanation of salvation through faith alone in Christ. I am praying that God was able to work in their hearts!

In July we drove to Colorado to visit Mark's grandparents and aunt and uncle. The drive was beautiful. I had never driven through that part of the country. We stayed one night in Grand Junction, Colorado where our dear friend, Tom-Tom, was left for some needy hotel maid. Oh, well -we just had to be old fashioned and use a road atlas for the rest of our trip!

Colorado Springs was very nice. On Sunday, we attended the Lighthouse Baptist Church. We were very warmly welcomed there and enjoyed both services we attended. To our great surprise it is the church that is attended by my home pastor's daughter and family. The Frisch's were also my teachers at Macon Road. It was so nice to visit with them.

We visited Focus on the Family while were there. It was great fun. They have a neat "Adventures in Odyssey" play area complete with a "Wit's End" soda shoppe where we ate lunch. The kids enjoyed exploring the rest of the area and we did too.

We also visited Colorado Springs Zoo. It is the only zoo built on a mountain. It had quite a view.
All in all, we had a very nice trip. It was great visiting with Mark's family and seeing the sights.

Train Museum

Last weekend, we took some time to do a little sight seeing. We visited a mining and railway museum in the tiny town of Helper, UT. It was a beautiful drive through the mountains. The boys enjoyed the model train and some of the other exhibits at the museum.

Overall, it was a very nice day!

New Season, New Post

Well, so much for doing better about keeping in touch! Is once a season often enough? I really am not sure what happens to time -it seems to just fly away. I can't believe that it is April already!
Things have been going well here. The snow has finally melted and it is trying to warm up. We have had a few warm days- but winter keeps coming back! We even had a little bit of snow on Saturday. I am trying to be patient- I know warm weather will be here soon enough!
Every one is staying happy and pretty much healthy.
Mark is staying busy with work and church. Pray for him -he is considering a job change. We would like to buy a house but can't right now on his salary. He is hoping he can get into something that has more of a future.
Church is going very well. We have started a Patch the Pirate club and have had 3 people saved because of it! Praise the Lord! Some of our neighbors threw a baby shower for Melody- I am praying that I can reach them somehow with the true Gospel.
I stay plenty busy at home with the three munchkins.

Daniel is a very imaginative 4 1/2 yr old. He is excited about starting school in the fall.

David is two now and beginning to talk a lot more. His main trouble is beginning consonants. He doesn't put them on half the words he says and it makes it hard to understand what he is trying to say!
Melody is 4 months old now -it is hard to believe! She is growing quickly and looks a lot like David did as a baby. She doesn't have the same temperament though-thank goodness! She is very content and happy. She loves to be in the center of the action. I won't be surprised if she starts crawling and moving around sooner than the boys did!
Well, I guess this a long enough update! I will try hard to post more often!

Recent Events

I thought I would kind of play 'catch up' on the recent major events in our family. The first was the new addition to our family on December 10th. Melody Grace was born healthy and happy for which we are truly grateful! She weighed in at a whopping 6lbs 130z and was 18.5 inches long. Actually her small size was kind of nice after having two 8 lb boys! She is a very good baby. She is content much of the time. She is so sweet and precious-even when she is wide awake when everyone else is sleeping! That is, every one else but her and me! I don't really mind too much- these baby days pass all too quickly!

We are really enjoying our new home here in snowy Utah. It has been cold and snowy for most of January. I have even had to drive in the snow! Pretty exciting stuff for this Tennessee girl!

Daniel and David have been staying quite busy playing with their new train set that they received for Christmas. David especially can't seem to get enough of it! Above are some pics of them playing with it! Papa did a fantastic job making the table for it! Thanks, Papa!
